A PENSIONER is in a ‘serious’ condition after suffering head injuries and a suspected broken leg after crashing into a stationary truck.

The 72-year-old male was airlifted to the Royal Preston Hospital following the incident, which happened at around 10am on Colne Road in Kelbrook.

It is understood he crashed his Toyota Corolla into a parked flat bed truck on the national speed limit road, near to the Old Stone Trough hotel.

Police say the driver of the truck sustained back injuries from the collision.

Motorists face long tailbacks as the road remains closed while police carried out investigations.
