AN EAST Lancashire restaurant has been ranked 36th out of Britain’s top restaurants by the Sunday Times.

Northcote in Langho, which is run by chef Nigel Haworth scored 9.4 out 10 in taste tests, putting it just under Dinner By Heston Blumenthal in Kensington, and third in the North West, after L’Enclume in Cartmel and Simon Radley at the Chester Grosvenor.

The Times said Northcote was a “haven for foodies in the North West”, that Nigel Haworth was an “ambassador for regionality”, and head chef Lisa Allen has become a “leading woman in what is still a male-dominated industry”.

The food was praised for being locally sourced, consistent, and complimented with a “hugely impressive wine list”.
