- Inspector Derek Quinn
Welcome to your local neighbourhood pages for Gorton.
I’m Derek Quinn, Inspector, covering Gorton
I have worked for GMP for over 20 years covering various roles in uniform policing. I’m passionate about making our community safe and taking on those who cause the most harm.
I started my career in 2001 as a volunteer Special Constable in Stockport before joining GMP full time in 2003. I have worked in response policing in Manchester, Tameside & Bury and in Neighbourhood policing in Prestwich.
I have been the neighbourhood Inspector for Harpurhey for 2 years before moving to my current role as Neighbourhood Inspector in Gorton. It is my mission understand the issues in our areas in relation to Neighbourhood crime, Anti-social behaviour and drug crime.
My officers and staff are working hard to ensure that we address the issues that concern the community most.
On these pages you can find priorities in our area that we continue to work on. We will update these priorities with the action we have taken to remedy them.
We can’t do this without you, so we have launched an alert system called Bee in the loop which will enable us to contact you directly about these priorities. It will also enable you to speak to officers on the ground, where you live, so you can tell us what matters most to you.
You can sign up at www.beeintheloop.co.uk
If this isn’t for you, you can also see our scheduled meetings. You will get to speak to an officer directly.
