FRIDAY night live, an initiative to reinvigorate Blackburn’s night- time economy, gets under way on April 25 with a host of bands and solo artists playing in venues around the town centre.

Northside, key members of the Manchester scene of the early Nineties and contemporaries of the Stone Roses and Happy Mondays, will play at Blakey’s in King George’s Hall. A hundred free tickets are available from the box office for people to pick up in person (limited to four per person).

Once the first 100 tickets have been claimed they will be £10 in advance. Other live music events on the night include Reece Bibby and Blanty at the Times Bar, Mark Duckworth and J-Bear and the Giants at Molloys, India Mill and Hello Bamboo at the Sir Charles Napier and Miracle of Us and Urban Empire at the Live Lounge.
