St James Players in Burnley are staging the comedy A Fish Out of Water on May 29, 30 and June 1.

The play, set in a hotel on the Italian Riviera, tells the story of Agatha Hepworth, a determinedly outspoken widow and her spinster sister Fiona Francis.

Agatha crushes all protests as she rounds up the hotel guests into communal games and other health pursuits, shattering the peaceful, romantic atmosphere.

Performers will be Fay Thompson (Audrey Hubback), Kelly Foster (Marisa), Ken Horsfield (Brigadier Hubback), Barbara Ashworth (Agatha Hepworth), Pauline Shalliker (Fiona Francis), Alex Robinson (Julian Whittle), and Chris White (Mario Marcello).

The society is staging its first production since the death of director Brian Wellock.

It will also be the society's first performance in its new home at St Cuthbert's Church hall, St Cuthbert Street, Burnley, after moving from St James School, Lanehead.

The play runs at St Cuthbert's, St Cuthbert Street, Burnley, on Tuesday, May 29, Thursday, May 31 and Friday, June 1, 7.30pm. For tickets call 01282 429797 or buy on the door.
