In Murder Deferred, a St James Players production running from November 15 to 18, Leila Markham has been the licensee of The Hay Wain Inn, in the picturesque village of Helford Abbas, for three years.
With Mrs Boulders coming in to clean, Mick Clancy as barman and Jamie Bowers taking care of the cooking, Leila has settled happily into the routine of running a village pub.
But when Ruth Cousins arrives needing a room for the night Leila's world is turned into a nightmare as lies, blackmail, deception and murder invade her once-peaceful existence.
Murder Deferred is being staged at St James School, Lanehead, Burnley, from Wednesday, November 15 to Saturday, November 18, at 7.30pm. For tickets call 01282 429797.
