Eastenders star Danny Dyer has taken to the role of Queen Vic landlord so much that he wants to bring his work home with him – and build a replica pub in his back garden.
The actor, who plays Mick Carter – landlord of the iconic public house – will soon be moving house, and he has big plans to put his own stamp on the property, in classic Danny Dyer fashion.
He told OK! Magazine, “When we move to the new house I’ve got an annexe at the back and I’m going to build a mini Queen Vic. That’s going to be my man cave, my little boozer.”
And it seems he’s actually serious about the plans. “I’ve got the prop guys from the show coming around with the actual blueprints to the pub. I’ll have a little Queen Victoria bust and everything and a little sign outside. I’m going to completely Vic it up!”
It was also revealed that Danny, whose long-term partner proposed to him on Valentine’s Day after 20 years together, apparently made the move first – and was rejected.
In the interview, his daughter Dani said: “When he was drunk at [on-screen wife] Kellie Bright’s wedding, he asked Mum to marry him and she said no – he meant it but she says no to wind him up!”
