The latest trailer for Jurassic World has given us more glimpses of at least three of the new dinosaurs in this summer’s prehistoric blockbuster. Except (and here’s one for the pedants out there) none of them are really “dinosaurs” at all…
First we’ve got the Mosasaurus (a marine reptile, and definitely not a dinosaur), then flocks of Dimorphodon (which are pterosaurs), and finally the Indominus rex (a genetic monstrosity more akin to Godzilla than anything from the Mesozoic era).
If you want to know what other prehistoric beasts we can expect in the film (some of them real dinosaurs, too!) take a look at its ridiculously flashy website.
However, if you’re feeling a bit nostalgic for the old dinos then here’s a nice quiz recapping the prehistoric behemoths that have featured in the film franchise so far.
