Eva Mendes struggled to read the autocue as she spoke at a charity gala – and blamed her emotional mistake on the fact she has just had a baby.
The Hollywood actress, 40, and heartthrob Ryan Gosling, 34, became parents to their first child – Esmeralda Amada Gosling – in September 2014.
Eva gave an emotional speech at the Hollywood Stands Up To Cancer event, and fought back tears as she talked about her brother’s cancer treatment.
The Hitch star said: “Each one of us in this room that is here tonight, we’re here because someone in our family or someone close to us has been affected by this insidious disease.
“Tonight I’m here with my family and my brother Carlos, who I love so much. He had treatment today and we weren’t sure if he was going to be feeling up to it. So, I’m so happy you made it, and I love you. I love you!”
Eva then began reading a campaign message for the charity, before fluffing her lines.
She then asked the teleprompter operator, “I’m sorry, go back,” before telling the room: “You guys got it?
Eva laughed: “I just had a baby, I haven’t slept! Thank you so much for inviting me!”
