Coronation Street’s Georgia May Foote has warned fans to expect her character Katy Armstrong’s new romance to end in tears.
Katy will grow closer to villain Callum Logan (Sean Ward), but chooses to ignore warnings that he is only using her as an excuse to hang around the street so he can wind up her neighbour David Platt by spending time with his biological son, Max.
Georgia told Inside Soap: “She knows Callum could be bad news and she’s definitely drawn to his edgy ways. Having said that, I think Katy knows deep down that Callum’s not the type of guy to settle down with.”
She went on: “Katy’s attitude is pretty careless. Her family find out about Callum’s reputation and her dad Owen isn’t particularly happy about her seeing this guy.
“But Katy’s reaction to that is, ‘I don’t really care what you all think – I’m going to do it anyway.’
“As we know, though, Callum’s main motive for dating Katy is so that he can hang around the street, be closer to Max and wind up David. It’s all going to end in tears.”
