Peter Capaldi has admitted he isn’t universally loved in his role on Doctor Who.
The Thick Of It star took over as the Time Lord in the most recent series of the BBC sci-fi hit, but although he has won over many fans, he conceded that not everyone agrees on any Doctor.
Talking to YouTube show Mr Media about taking the part, he said: “I sensed fate was at work. I would not have been being true to myself if I had turned away from it.”
Peter continued: “There’s nothing about it I find negative. It’s been a very positive experience because I’m working with great people and it’s a great, fun experience.
“It has its challenges and not everybody likes me but a lot of people do.”
Asked what he would like his legacy as the Doctor to be, he replied: “I would like it to be mysterious and magical and fun. That’s just what Doctor Who is, a mysterious piece of magic in the world.”
