An EastEnders spokeswoman has played down reports about Danny Dyer's antics at an awards show - saying he simply kissed Mary Berry on the cheek as she presented an award.

According to The Sun, the soap star stuck his tongue in the Bake Off judge's ear at the TV Choice Awards.

And the Daily Mirror wrote that he "manhandled" Berry by leaning in to kiss her full-on, before the 79-year-old accepted a peck on the cheek and brushed him off.

Mary was presenting the Best Soap gong to the stars of the BBC One show at the awards night.

Earlier in the night, Danny, who had won the Best Actor gong for his role as Mick Carter, poked fun at host and comedian David Mitchell.

Danny asked about his award: "Is this mine?" and when David could not hear, the Mirror says he responded: "Is that mine without your f****** script?... Good, thank you."

But an EastEnders spokeswoman denied that Berry had been manhandled.

"Anyone who was at the awards or has seen the video of Danny's speech will know that all his comments were made in good humour," she said.

"Danny and the rest of the cast had a great night celebrating their wins which was all the more special for Danny as he won his first Best Actor aw ard.

"With regards to Mary Berry, Danny did affectionately give her a kiss on the cheek as he is a big fan. As he said last night 'you gotta love a bit of the Berry'."
