Tom Cruise's Beverly Hills mansion was searched by a SWAT team following what is believed to have been a hoax 911 call.
Police are investigating a possible hoax call that had officers responding to a report of an armed robbery at the Jack Reacher star's home on Thursday.
Sgt Renato Moreno said police received the call shortly before noon. Officers went to the house, searched it and found no crime had been committed. There have been no arrests.
Police are investigating the incident as a false report of an emergency.
Cruise and his family were not home when the call was made.
Such calls have been dubbed "swatting" because they are intended to get multiple officers, including SWAT teams, sent to a home.
In December a juvenile was arrested after police said he made calls that reported violence at the homes of Justin Bieber and Ashton Kutcher.
