It may have been chilly outside but the wintry weather did little to cool the lively Tuesday night crowd.
Compere for the evening Will Duggan did a good job of firing up the audience ready for some quality acts.
Big Lou, acknowledging his ‘upside down’ head, and while reminding me of a scary beaver, enlightened us on the perils of growing up in the Manchester suburbs.
Daniel Kennedy’s set stood out a little as a weaker act.
While a couple of his jokes got a good reaction I was left feeling that I didn’t really ‘get’ him enough to find him funnier.
Chris Tavner restored proceedings with some amusing ditties before headline act Andrew Ryan took to the stage.
He was well-placed in the top spot as the bubbly, likeable Irishman discussed the perils of moving in with a girlfriend in his easy-to-listen-to lilt, and went down well in the intimate comedy club setting.
A night of ups and a couple of downs ended on a high.
