COMEDIAN Bobby Davro was searching for a brain while playing the Scarecrow in New World Production's version of the musical, The Wizard of Oz.
But he had me searching for the tissues in my handbag during most of his scenes, as I was crying with laughter at his hilarious double entendres.
It’s a musical with a funky twist, full of inuendo, leaving the adults entertained as much as the children.
After the laughs, Dorothy was the next-best performer, played by Over the Rainbow’s Stephanie Fearon.
Her stunning looks and voice to match, captivated all the little girls in the audience.
Featuring a rescue mission by a Tin Man and a Lion, disguised as Amy Winehouse and Beyonce, it made for a jam packed two hours of fun — the perfect way to kick start the half-term.
Away from all the fun in Kansas and Oz, we saw a poignant ending — discovering that Toto the crossbreed was played by homeless dog Jacob, currently looking for a place to live.
But my five-year-old munchkin’s favourite part was when the Wicked Witch, played by Kate Richards, threatened the audience: “Shut up or I’ll kill Justin Bieber.”
