CHRISTMAS may seem like a distant memory already, but if you thought that panto season was over then think again.

The Muni in Colne has just kicked off its annual show, this year Cinderella is being brought to life by panto stalwart George Critchley and his team.

The plot is based on the fairytale but has plenty of twists and turns along the way.

The show, which runs until January 23, stars Nick Cochrane, known for playing Andy McDonald in Coronation Street, as Prince Charming.

While George Critchley makes a welcome appearance back for his 15th consecutive year on stage, this time playing the role of Buttons, Cinderella’s bumbling love smitten friend The title role is played by talented newcomer Ella Vize, who belted out note perfect versions of Little Town from Beauty and the Beast and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera.

The show was jam packed with hilarious moments, many of which came from the ugly sisters, Britney and Christine Tremayne played by Scott Worsfold and Adam Borzone.

While Fiona Egan, who plays the brilliantly wicked Lady Mortician Tremayne, was outstanding with facial expressions that must be seen to be believed.

Although it was hard to pick one highlight out of so many, the lively version of 12 days of Christmas had everyone rolling around with laughter.

The superbly talented cast, hilarious script writing featuring lots of innuendo, and inventive use of chart songs makes this a New Year show not to be missed.

- Cinderella will be on at The Muni in Colne from Friday January 7 until Sunday January 23. For tickets call 01282 661234.
