AMATEUR golfing legend Gary Wolstenholme reveals in his auto-biography that he was taught to play the sport by his grandmother - his career first teeing off on the Grange-over-Sands golf cause, Grange Fell.
From there, the book details his many golfing triumphs, including success at the Walker Cup, beating Tiger Woods and being awarded an MBE for his services to the sport.
Among the personal thoughts and experiences are golfing tips and advice for anyone wanting to improve their game.
I wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone not interested in golf, as the sport is, understandably, the dominant theme.
THE LONG AND THE SHORT OF IT, Gary Wolstenholme, John Blake publishing, £17.99.
