I HAVE the hardest job in the world. Not that entertaining a room full of comedy-goers for a couple of hours is easy at all, but trying to explain just how great this pair are is a near-impossible task.

I must confess I had never heard of Frisky and Mannish until they came to Burnley. But I’m so glad that I have now.

Their show, entitled ‘The College Years’ offers a musical education to the audience through their ‘collision theory’; merging songs performed by polar opposites, yet combining them seamlessly with exceptionally funny consequences.

They also correct the grammatical errors in the works of several singers including Alicia Keys and Kelly Rowland lyrics.

Dubbed the ‘Lady Gaga of comedy’, the duo’s act consists of more than just being great impersonators.

They are vivacious, hilarious, warm and won over the audience within seconds.

Their 1920s Blackpool beach holiday-style take on the Pussycat Dolls’ hit ‘Beep’ made tears roll down my cheeks with laughter.

It is easily the funniest thing I have seen this year, perhaps ever.

Frisky and Mannish have invented their own genre of fresh, brilliant comedy.

I defy anyone with a vague knowledge of popular music to come away without a big smile.

In a word, genius.
