MIRROR, mirror on the wall, where is the greatest kids pantomime of all? Last night, the search focused on the Thwaites Empire Theatre in Blackburn.

And Duggie Chapman has done it again, producing a perfect panto, blending the right mix of fun and frolics into the traditional tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. And children, young and not so young, love it.

Yes the beautiful Snow White is there, played by Kym Mallows, who is adored by the audience as the love story unfolds.

Yes there's a wicked Queen (Karen Roberts) who is booed and jeered throughout. Johnny Marx is the ever-so-charming Prince and, of course, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Doc and Sneezy are all there, belying their tender years with first-class performances, each and every one of them.

But a pantomime wouldn't be a pantomime without the dame Granada TV's very own Paul Crone as the hilarious Sarah the Cook.

Muddles (Pete Lindup) who had the crowd in stitches with plenty of shouting, songs and side-splitting humour, and Chamberman Tony Leyton with his pheasant as a present, also made everyone feel part of the fun.

And there are fantastic renditions of "Show me the way to Oswaldtwistle", "The 12 days of Christmas" and "Always look on the bright side of life".

This is laugh-out-loud riotous fun for all the family.
