Lancashire Telegraph review by John Anson from August 15 2009.
The Copy Nook is a typical Ribble Valley hostelry and one that has long been known as a place to enjoy a decent meal.
A look at the number of dishes on the specials board will soon get the tastebuds going.
As we visited on a Sunday it didn’t take the better half long to make her selection – the traditional roast lamb.
I went for one of the specials – smoked haddock fish cakes with chive crème fraiche. Both came in just under a tenner.
You can eat either in the bar area or a separate dining room (actually both look much the same) and the staff are friendly and attentive.
We were served a large dish of boiled potatoes, rustic chips and a selection of three veg to share.
My fishcakes were clearly home made (ie not perfectly circular) and were packed with tasty smoked fish.
The crème fraiche was a tasty (and healthy accompaniment) and although not a massive portion, I was left pleasantly full.
But a blackboard full of pudding choices proved too tempting so it was jam roly poly and custard for me and brandy basket and strawberries for the better half.
Being critical, a bit more custard wouldn’t have gone amiss but it was good to see an old favourite on the menu.
