Lancashire Telegraph review by Kimberley Hall from July 25, 2009.

Looking for a good value Sunday evening meal, we stumbled upon what we thought was a pub which served curry.

But the Dog Inn is much more than that.

Inside it looked more like a high-end restaurant.

As we looked at the menu we were told that it was not the type of food you get from many curry houses; the chefs cook authentic Indian dishes, with no colourings or additives.

I liked the sound of the Tandoori fish salad, at £7.50 and the other half went for the four-course Indian option, costing £9.95.

This consisted of two poppadoms and dips, a starter, main course and dessert.

The poppadoms came with mango chutney and yoghurt raita — some of the nicest I've tasted, and the samosas were crunchy and fresh — just how they should be.

As we tucked in, the silence said it all. The spice coated salmon pieces in my salad were very tasty without being too hot.

My other half's Aloo Gobi was spot-on. The curry came with a large serving of rice and spring onion naan bread, so neither of us had room to sample the dessert included in the four-course deal!

The bill with drinks came to just £24.60. A return visit will certainly be in order.
