From Sheila Brennan of Bombay Street, Blackburn.
On an English summer Sunday
And from a comfortable seat
Listening to the sounds on Sunday
When summer's at its peak.
At the annual flower show
A crowd of people come
And chat among the sights
To see what has been won.
Music floods the town square
The band begins to play
An audience soon gathers
For there's time enough today.
And from my comfortable seat
I look upon a lovely view
Of fields of green and sun
Against a sky of azure blue.
