WORLD famous novelist Martin Amis will launch his controversial and highly-anticipated new novel The Pregnant Widow at The Martin Harris Centre at The University of Manchester on Monday.

This will be his first public launch event for the new novel.

The Pregnant Widow, Amis's 12th novel, has already attracted significant media attention in advance of its official publication tomorrow.

The book, which frankly examines the sexual revolution of the 1960s, is likely to generate debate due to its autobiographical nature and its engagement with sexual politics.

Amis who is currently Professor of Creative Writing at the Centre for New Writing at the University of Manchester will read from The Pregnant Widow and then discuss the novel on stage with Lisa Allardice, editor of the Guardian Review before taking questions from the audience.
