When God looks down, what does he see?
Well, obviously he sees both you and me
Does he count the mistakes we've made?
Does the love in his face ever fade?
No. He looks for all the good we have done
As our life, its daily course has run
He sees all the kindnesses we give to others
Neighbours, friends, sisters or brothers.
He understands when hurt we shout
But he willingly gives us the benefit of the doubt
What we are now others clearly can see
But he sees the potential of what we can be.
