By Brian McGlynn.

Those listening senses crowd my thoughts
Deep down emotions inhibit my play
Like lying in state, all eyes my way
That feeling on high lest I betray
Through the smoke can be seen the style
This pattern of life yet for a while
All wonder how and why they can't
Master this art and they inner sigh
And cast their eye and make excuses for reasons why
But I lost the game last night
The game I should have won
The people all watched side by side
And silence reigned as I begun
To test myself to tell the tale
To show my greatness why age prevails
They watch me like a cat
They sense my every move
My fame is their misfortune
My downfall is their doom
Like bees around the honey
They gloat, some sneer and pray
That I like them shall feel the pain
Of losing day by day
I lost the game last night
The game I should have won
But I'll be back another time
To beat once more my drum.
