IT’S fair to say your life changes beyond recognition after having a baby.

No more rolling in from nights out at all hours, lazing about until lunch or drinking cups of tea while they’re still hot.

Since having my first baby in April, I have found myself immersed in a world of nursery rhymes, baby massage and nappy chat with strangers.

Which is all good but surely even Mother Earth types need a break from baby talk.

Step forward Bring Your Own Baby - the UK’s number one baby-friendly comedy club – which returns to The Lowry, Salford Quays, on Monday December 3 at 11.30am.

Back in September, BYOB brought Jason Manford to the venue and I rounded up a group of NCT pals to enjoy an hour of chuckles.

It was an enjoyable outing packed full of jokes and “No effin’ wind the bobbin up here!”

Next month’s show will star Britain’s Got Talent runner-up Robert White – known for his musical comedy, and star of Live At the Apollo (and mum of twins) Jen Brister who has also featured on Comedy Store Live and Radio Four.

They will be joined by BYOB’s creators - Alyssa Kyria aka The Funny Mummy and Carly Smallman (The Rob Brydon Show) who will be returning to host the gig.

When Alyssa suffered with post-natal depression after the birth of her daughter, the pair decided to help other local parents by starting a day-time comedy club in the function room above their local pub. The shows were so popular that they now host them at venues across the UK.

There will be plenty of buggy parking available but my advice would be to take baby in a carrier if possible to avoid the lifts and queues at The Lowry’s car park if driving.

Thanks to BYOB, having a baby no longer means saying goodbye to enjoying the best live comedy stars from the circuit and TV and guests don’t even have to arrange childcare.

Save the babysitter for your next big night out clubbing, which will probably be in 2025…
