SIMPLY CLASSIC CAFE BISTRO Unit 10C, Shuttleworth Mead Business Park, Padiham .

A BIT like Ronseal, Simply Classic does exactly what it says on the tin.

From location to decor there are no frills about this dining venue. But then again, it doesn’t need them. The food speaks for itself.

The fairly basic menu too mirrors the name. But when you are guaranteed good, wholesome, fresh fare in a light, airy and clean environment then what else matters?

It’s not the obvious location for a meal out, based on a business park close to the M65 and bypass, but plenty have already discovered it and it was very busy on our visit. But the service was quick despite the lunchtime surge.

You can’t grumble at the price either.

Our table of five had a main course each, one starter and one extra portion of chips were included, as well as two cappuccinos, two teas and a soft drink and we still got change from £37 – 85 pence to be precise.

Steak and onion sandwiches and Club sandwiches were packed with freshly cooked meat, served on fresh bread with a generous side salad, which also accompanied the tasty cheese and onion omelette I ordered.

Daily specials offer something different to tempt the tastebuds. But sometimes the simple things are the best.
