Each time you venture into Blackburn’s new market there seems to be another food outlet opening.

And the latest to arrive in the brand new indoor shopping centre is Butlers Cafe.

While the other food stalls are served by a communal eating area, this cafe is self contained with a clean and fresh seating area in the window and spilling out onto Church Street.

It’s waitress service and the staff can’t do enough for you.

It’s amazing how far a smile and a kind word goes when it comes to customer service.

The atmosphere is literally buzzing, with happy faces everywhere it really is an uplifting dining experience.

And then we come to the never ending menu options.

From all day breakfasts and full meals to snacks and homemade desserts, there is literally something for all appetites at Butlers.

Broken down into sections, you can chose from traditional roast dinners, pies, fish dishes, giant filled yorkshire puddings, jacket potatoes, salads, and hot and cold sandwiches.

After much deliberation I opted for a cheese and onion pie served with mash potato, carrots and peas.

It was a tasty and generous serving with ample filling for just £5.50 and arrived within a matter of minutes.

My friend chose the roast lamb dinner with mint sauce, which went down equally well — an enjoyable and nourishing meal for £6.50.

To satisfy a sweet craving later in the afternoon we treated ourselves to a takeaway piece of their carrot cake, one of many home made offerings on display, and it did not disappoint.
