Lancashire Telegraph review by Jemma Humphreys from November 13, 2010.

IT’S been a grill and an Italian and the latest owners of this ever-changing unit seem to be suffering from what remains of an identity crisis.

The sign above the door states a steak and burger restaurant but it seems like Flava Mix is carrying out a bit of a test-drive with its menu and style.

It’s not that the food is bad - it isn't. It’s more that the theme is confusing that lets it down.

They serve traditional fish and chips, Asian-inspired options including masala fries, as well the grill options that are more fitting.

The interior is the same as its predecessor, stylish and upmarket, yet the choice of music, loud dance and trance, added to the mismatch.

After much deliberation over the unusual menu we went for a coconut prawn starter with garlic bread to share – both lovely, followed by a chicken burger for my friend and a gourmet style beef burger with cheese for me.

We couldn’t fault the food, which was beautifully presented, and soft drinks come with a free refill.

It seems when it’s settled in this restaurant will be one to revisit time and again, so long as this one hangs around long enough to get established.
