Brancott Estate Pinot Noir 2008, £7.99, Asda and Waitrose Brancott is the new High Street label for wines made by the New Zealand giant Montana.
It's not a advertising concoction but the name of the original Montana vineyard that helped to shoot the Marlborough region to fame.
Here's a superbly-priced Pinot Noir of the kind that put the Kiwis on the map – full of berries and cherries with a smooth flavour and 13% alcohol.
It tastes even better slightly chilled too.
