SADLY you have to go to Southport, Wilmslow or Otley to get this (or buy online) but the trip will be worth it for a massive (at 14.5% it's almost sherry strength) red from South Africa's Western Cape.
What you get are rich, ripe blackberries along with hints of chocolate, violets and herbs.
A great wine for all kinds of hearty red meat dishes, strong cheeses or just to sip on its own.
DOUGLAS GREEN CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2004, £5.99, Waitrose.
