Gavi is a really refreshing but often overlooked dry white from the Piedmont region in the north west of Italy north of Genoa and near the French border.
The Cortese grape, unlike many others, hasn't travelled the world but loves the local chalky soils which help to produce strong, zesty fruit flavours.
This 'Taste the Difference' own brand version is great value too.
Sainsbury's Gavi 2007, £6.99, Sainsbury's.
