NORTHCOTE chef Lisa Allen is to star in a new TV cookery programme.

Lisa, executive chef of the Michelin-starred venue in Langho, will be one of the culinary experts appearing on More 4’s Cooks’ Question Time.

The programme will be filmed tomorrow at studios in London, and aired in March.

Guest cook Lisa will appear alongside top chefs including Richard Corrigan, who has cooked for the Queen, and Jason Atherton, who was the executive chef at Gordon Ramsay’s Michelin-starred Maze, in London.

They will take questions from the audience about their culinary dilemmas.

Lisa said the chef trio will make a dish using the special ingredient, beetroot.

And outside the Cooks’ Question Time studio, the series will be going behind the scenes at some of the most innovative and talked about restaurants in Britain, as well as revealing the best tips for special occasion cooking.

Lisa said: “I am excited. It is something a little bit different because we will be taking questions from the public.

“I am excited about giving feedback, and working with chefs like Richard and Jason is a privilege. Quite a few of the activities will be spur of the moment, but we will all be creating something with beetroot, which is quite interesting.

“Being in that position where we are passing on knowledge is a unique situation to be in.

“Hopefully it will inspire people to try something new, or get into cooking.”

Dan Adamson, the show’s executive producer, said: “Cooks’ Question Time brings together some of the nation’s best culinary talent, unlocks their unique style and expertise in a fresh way, and imparts high end domestic science and know-how for an audience of passionate foodies.

“This will be a treat for anyone who loves to cook.”
