WITH Trinny and Susannah having jumped ship to ITV, the Beeb had two choices - ditch What Not To Wear or bring in new presenters.

Unfortunately, they have chosen the latter, introducing Lisa Butcher and Mica Paris as the new fashion police, out to embarrass the untrendy into smartening themselves up.

Now Ms Butcher and Ms Paris are of course ideally suited to helping normal women improve their fashion sense.

For, according to the Beeb, they both had to develop their own style while coping with the demands of being teenage stars and single mums.

Now forgive me for being sceptical, but isn't Lisa Butcher a top fashion model who is dressed by stylists and who works for the world's leading designers.

And as a best selling singer, would Ms Paris not have the might of a record company to help with her image?

Somehow, your average mum who is trying to get the kids' clothes ironed, prepare the tea and make sure they do their homework doesn't normally have a mini army of experts on hand.

Even in the hands of Trinny and Susannah, What Not To Wear had become fairly stale - notice they've had to make their new show much more racy.

Perhaps it would have been better to consign it to the back of the TV wardrobe.
