The Wildhearts frontman Ginger is playing an intimate acoustic show in Bolton on August 18.

The Wildhearts formed in 1989 and have had several top 20 singles — the highest placed being Sick of Drugs at number 14 — and a top 10 album, 1995’s P.H.U.Q.

South Shields rocker Ginger has broken up the band on several occasions and started a solo career in 2001.

Several albums have followed, along with appearances with Camp Freddy and the Michael Monroe band.
