SION Pantomime Society returns to the stage from February 22 to 26 with Little Red Riding Hood.

The traditional pantomime story takes place in the village of Little Twittering In The Mud, where Dame Dolly Dishcloth, played by Gordon Tattersall, has been visiting her grand-daughters.

The evil Count Calamitous (Frank Gallagher) visits and falls for Red Riding Hood’s sister Jill (Aimee Duckworth), who, in turn, has fallen in love with a humble woodcutter, Jack (Amy Tattersall).

On returning to her cottage in the woods Dame Dolly encounters the Wolf, who is actually Count Calamitous, carrying out a desperate plot to capture Jill.

However, Jack – or rather Prince Valiant, with the feisty Little Red Riding Hood (Alys Williams) foil his plan.

The society promises ‘lots of songs, laughs, thrills and spills’, with all the cast coming from the ‘church family’.

Little Red Riding Hood is directed by Jo Williams and produced by Craig Needham, with Amy Tattersall as musical director.

Also in the cast are Mark Lawless as Simple Simon, Norma Tattersall as Lady Smollett, Marcia Turner as Samantha Smollett, Angela Duckworth as The Valet, and Cara Needham as Bruisella the Count’s servant.
