EAST Lancashire's first ever solo chart-topper Diana Vickers continues her relatively low-key tour with a gig in Manchester on May 19.
The X Factor contestant's debut album, Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree, hit the number one spot this week following on from similar success with her first single, Once.
While Jedward have made a name for themselves through ridiculous hair, and JLS through ill-advised collaborations with shamed American R&B singers, it seems Diana wants to do things the old fashioned way.
A series of live appearances has built up a solid fanbase, and we’d be willing to bet that Vickers will be The X Factor songstress whose career continues after Cowell and co have lost interest. * Diana Vickers is at Manchester Academy on Wednesday, May 19. Tickets are £12.
