THE plight of a former Stonyhurst College pupil is at the centre of the latest production for Blackburn Drama Club from May 12 to 15.

The Winslow Boy is based on the real story of a father’s fight to clear his son’s name.

The boy, Ronnie Winslow, whose real name was George Archer-Shee, is expelled from naval college for stealing a five-shilling postal order.

Determined to clear his son's name, Arthur Winslow employs Sir Robert Morton, the top attorney of the day.

But as the family becomes embroiled in the battle for justice against the might of the establishment, a huge price is paid by them all.

* The Winslow Boy is at Thwaites Empire Theatre, Blackburn, from Wednesday, May 12 to Saturday, May 15. Tickets are £8 and are available on 01254 685500.
