IT'S been a long while since we waved a tearful goodbye to Friends' on Friday nights.

And while I've never properly recovered from the weekly dose of laughter delivered by my old pals Chandler, Monica, Joey, Rachel, Phoebe and Ross, Will & Grace' just about makes staying in on a Friday bearable.

Even so, last night's episode, featuring a cameo from Janet Jackson, wasn't one of the best. Will was too indecisive, Grace too miserable and Karen didn't make enough appearances.

Mind you, as usual she stole the scenes she was in.

"You know what? I've gotta find the ladies' room. It's true what they say: You don't buy tequila. You rent it," she said to Jack before hastily running out of the room.

Fair play to Janet Jackson, who hilariously sent herself up appearing in a burst of dry ice to a dance rehearsal, telling her dancers: "It costs a little extra, but I make up for it by having all of you guys pay for your own costumes."

Elsewhere, Will tried to help a lonely Grace get over her break-up, only to see her come between him and boyfriend Vince.

Is it just me or is Grace's selfishness simply not funny?

"You know, this is really bad timing. You getting involved with someone while I'm going through all this," she told Will.

"You're right," he replied. "This is worse than when I arranged to have my grandmother die the day you wanted to see the Lizzie Maguire movie."

If next week's episode doesn't improve, it might even be time to consider a social life.
