Chorley’s annual music festival returns next month for its 10th year, and here’s everything you need to know before you go.
Every October, Chorley town centre is transformed into a weekend-long party of live music and entertainment.
This year the popular event will take place on Friday, October 4, and Saturday 5.
The upcoming event will boast almost 300 live performances at more than 35 participating venues.
Entry into Chorley Live is via a wristband that costs £5 and gets you access into every venue over the two nights.
Under 12s go free and do not need a wristband, though access will be restricted for children into certain establishments due to licensing reasons.
Performances will be 45 minutes long and will take place hourly from 7pm to 10pm at each venue, with people being able to come and go between performances at any time.
Every type of establishment, from pubs to churches - and even a dentist - will open their doors and host a wide range of live music and entertainment.
Amongst the varied line up are: 60’s cover band Too Old to Be Told, crowd pleasing rock and pop band Cherry Nips, ceilidh band Chorley Cakes, One Voice Community Choir, Central Lancashire Community band, and the barbershop ensemble Piertown A Cappella.
The event was originally created to help boost visitors into the town centre and to grow the town’s creative community.
Last year alone saw more than 12,000 visitors who came to enjoy the entertainment, with the festival being shortlisted for the Lancashire Tourism Awards (small events category).
The event has been organised by Chorley Council in partnership with The Creative Network – a grassroots, non-profit, community group that aims to develop the local creative arts scene through live entertainment.
Councillor Peter Wilson, deputy leader of Chorley Council, said: “Chorley Live is one of the most vibrant events of the year and it's always a brilliant atmosphere across the town centre with people from all walks of life enjoying the very best music and entertainment.
“It’s a showcase of our thriving nighttime economy and provides a great chance to experience live music by so many different artists.
"Get your wristband now and join us for an epic weekend in Chorley!”
Details on where to get a wristband for the event are available on the Chorley Live website.
