Jeanette Hughes is a member of the Concert Signers and writes a regular column for the Warrington Guardian.

She describes how life has changed for the group

It is incredible how the world can change in a few months and I hope everyone is staying safe in these difficult times, and our thoughts go out to all who have lost loved ones.

Truly sad times.

A few months ago, Concert Signers had a full year of raising deaf awareness in our plans.

This has all changed and many of our performances, like all artists everywhere have been rescheduled.

We are still rehearsing, albeit in our individual homes via zoom, which is great, we have so many laughs but we are looking forward to getting together and having a good catch up!

The April performance with The Foundations at The Brindley Theatre in Runcorn has been moved to September, and our The Who performance is now next year.

We are hoping Simply Red, and Jools Holland performances may go ahead later in the year, but as with everything that is happening, no one knows at the moment.

I am so proud of our NHS, every Thursday evening along the road we live on, neighbours clap and cheer for those wonderful carers and key workers.

So moving and well deserved praise for every single one of them. Thank you, we are so blessed to have our NHS and key workers.

We are very honoured and many thanks for worldwide Rock legends Queen who have given Concert Signers permission to sign a video of their wonderful beautiful song “Love of My Life” on which Concert Signers thank the NHS and key workers, this was put together by our brilliant videographer Chris at Forshaw Media.

Free to view, it can be seen on You Tube, and you can also access the You Tube link on Concert Signers insta and Twitter sites.

Concert Signers have also received lovely messages, we had a stay safe message from Genesis legend Steve Hackett, again always a brilliant supporter of deaf awareness, this cheered us all up so much.

Durga McBroom fabulous singer of Pink Floyd and Blue Pearl and Randy Schrager the drummer with Scissor Sisters also sent Concert Signers stay safe messages, which is just wonderful.

Again these can all be viewed on Concert Signers social media.
