CALIFORNIAN songstress Jesca Hoop, fresh from a tour with Peter Gabriel, will headline Lancashire’s newest festival, Cloudspotting, next month.

Elbow’s Guy Garvey was the first to champion Hoop in the UK after the Mercury prizewinners chose her to support them on their US tour.

Hoop tops the bill on Saturday night, while white rapper Jonnie Common, who stole the show in 2012, is back to deliver more of his Glaswegian lip.

Liverpool’s reclusive lab-coat wearing psychonauts Clinic, who have been blazing a trail across America promoting their new offering Free Reign, pick up Friday’s headline slot. Guitar legend Michael Chapman returns to Cloudspotting, and he performs behind Sunday headliners King Creosote, with backing from The Earlies.

Cloudspotting has a new location this year, in the Gisburn Forest, close to the village of Slaidburn.

Spokesman Matt Evans said: “It is a very family orientated festival, with children under 16 admitted free. We are running for an extra day this year, and we are really excited.”
