THE centenary celebrations for Kathleen Ferrier continue next week when Clitheroe Concerts Society pays tribute to the renowned singer.
Leading mezzo-sporano Karina Lucas will be performing some of Ferrier’s most famous songs at a special recital at the lecture theatre of Clitheroe Royal Grammar School’s sixth form centre on York Street on Wednesday.
Karina is a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music and her accompanist Simon Lane is also a former student from the prestigious Manchester school.
The special concert is open to non members of the society and are available in advance, priced £12.50, from the Platform Gallery in Clitheroe or online at www.clitheroeconcerts. org. Tickets will also be available on the door. The recital starts at 7,30pm.
