Former Highfield Working Men's Club site on Radcliffe Street in Darwen is set to make way for eight new houses if planning is granted by the council.

Jennings & Gilchreate Ltd have used local agents - Ainsworth Lord Estates to explore the site's potential and commissioned them to submit proposals to Blackburn with Darwen Council's planning dept for approval.

"The property market in Darwen is hungry for more new family houses and this site lends itself perfectly well to a nice small development" says Paul Ainsworth-Lord, founder of Ainsworth Lord Estates who are based in the town.

Phil Stewardson of Jennings and Gilchreaste Ltd. said "The plans we have submitted will improve the site no end and most certainly add value to neighbouring properties. We're looking forward to a positive outcome from the planning dept. and being responsible for initiating improvements to the local area."

"We have several other sites we intend to develop in the Darwen area and are always looking for more - irrespective of size."

Anyone with knowledge of any development sites in the Darwen, Blackburn and Hyndburn area should contact Paul Ainsworth-Lord at Ainsworth Lord Estates on 01254 760660 in the first instance.
