80-year-old reader Irene Guy has found this photograph at her Darwen home and needs some answers about it.
She doesn’t know who the children are, where the picture was taken, or indeed why she should have it.
She thinks it may show children from an orphanage, back in the 1920s, but isn’t too sure.
Most of the boys seem to be wearing the same ‘uniform’ of shirts and ties and short trousers, and their hair is very neat.
The distinctive statue at the back, showing a man carrying a baby and a youngster by his side, might, however, be the thing to jog someone’s memory.
Can any of our readers help to solve this puzzle for Irene?
