TAKEN in 1982 this aerial view of Blackburn town centre shows a part of the town where very little remain as you see it here today.
This view over Salford has Ainsworth Street running down to the bottom of the picture with the curved roof of the market hall on the left and the bridge linking the shopping centre to the market and the spiral ramp clearly visible.
On the right you can see the car park on top of the shopping centre with Church Street in the background. Top left are the offices of Dutton’s Brewery which would be demolished in 1986.
Railway Road leading to the Boulevard and the station runs up to the top of the photo with the cathedral just visible, top right.
