ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (PURLEY-ON-THAMES, FOOTPATH 8/2 (THE THAMES FOOTPATH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2018 West Berkshire District Council has made an Order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit persons from using footpath 8/2 Purley-On-Thames (The Thames footpath) from a point 150 metres north west of Mapledurham Lock to a point 50 metres further to the north west.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to be executed on or near the Footpath, namely installation of a fish pass. Pedestrians will be diverted around a temporary path around the rear of the works. The proposed Order will come into effect on 9th April 2018 and the works are expected to last for ten weeks. The order shall remain in force for 6 months or until works are completed whichever is the sooner. The Order was made on 3rd April 2018.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING)
ORDER 2018
West Berkshire District Council has made an Order in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Purley Lane, Purley on Thames between its junction with Purley village and its junction with Westridge Avenue.
The alternative route for through traffic is via Purley Village, New Hill, Reading Road and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable BT Openreach access to maintain and upgrade apparatus. The proposed Order will come into effect on 9th April 2018. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place day and night from 9th April to 13th April 2018. The Order shall remain in force for a period of Eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest.
The Order was made on Tuesday 3rd April 2018 The above orders will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Dated: 5th April 2018.
