(WHARF STREET, HENRY STREET, SPRING STREET, RISHTON, HYNDBURN BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle to proceed over the following lengths of highway in the Borough of Hyndburn;
i. Wharf Street, Rishton from its junction with A678 High Street for a distance of 15 metres in a Southerly direction.
ii. Spring Street, Rishton form its junction with A678 High Street for a distance of 15 metres in a northerly direction.
iii. Henry Street, Rishton from its junction with A678 High Street for distance of 15 metres in a Southerly direction.
2. The prohibition will be operative from 0730 hours on Tuesday 2nd May 2017 until 1730 hours on Friday 30th June 2017 or until completion of the works within this period.
3. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Diversion 1 (Wharf Street) - A678 High Street – Derby Street – Chapel Street – Wharf Street and vice versa.
Diversion 2 (Spring Street) – A678 High Street – Commercial Street – School Street – Spring Street and vice versa.
Diversion 3 – (Henry Street) – A678 High Street – George Street – Hicks Terrace – Henry Street and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow utility works to be carried out.
