ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) THE BOLTON (PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.031 TURTON EGERTON) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE! (NO. ) ORDER 2017

The Borough Council of Bolton intends to make an Order not less than seven days from the date of this Notice.

The effect of which will be operative from 24th March 2017 and will prohibit all pedestrian traffic from using Public Footpath No.031 Turton Egerton commencing from Briggs Fold Road; point A at grid reference SD 371116 414597 in a generally north east by northerly direction point B; Hazel Mount at grid reference SD 371151 414649 as shown by the bold black line on the Order plan 1Teg031 over a total distance approximately 63 metres.

An alternative route is available commencing from Public Footpath Turton Egerton 031; point A

at grid reference SD 371116 414597, then Briggs Fold, Hazel Mount, point B at grid reference SD

371151 414649 as shown by the blue line with arrowheads on the Order plan 1Teg031.

The order is necessary to facilitate gas mains replacement work, and will continue from 24th March

2017 for 2 weeks, or until the works are completed whichever is the earlier.

The Borough Council of Bolton has made an Order, which will be operative on the 17th March 2017, which will prohibit all pedestrian traffic from using Public Footpath No.083 Blackrod commencing from Blackrod By-Pass; point A at grid reference SD 361867 410995 in a generally north-east by northerly direction to point B at grid reference SD 362024 411189 as shown by the bold black line on the Order plan 1Bla083 over a total distance of approximately 257 metres. No alternative route is available

The Order is necessary to facilitate the construction of a newfootbridge and will continue for a period of 6 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. Dated: 17th March 2017

Public Footpath No. 083 Blackrod situated to the north east of Blackrod By-Pass, Blackrod, Bolton, BL6 5DS known as Anderton Hall Level Crossing commencing from point A at grid reference SD361990 411147 in a generally north easterly direction to point B at grid reference SD362003 411158 as shown by the continuous bold line between points A-B on the Order Plan over a total distance of approximately 18 metres and at a varying width of between 4 metres and 1.6 metres. The new line will commence from point A at grid reference SD361990 411147 running in a generally south easterly direction for a distance of approximately 15 metres to point C at grid reference SD361999 411135 to cross a footbridge over the railway, initially by 2 flights of 17 steps in a generally south easterly direction for a distance of approximately 15 metres to point D at grid reference SD362008 411123 where the path turns continuing in a generally north east by easterly direction for a distance of approximately 17 metres utilising 2 flights of 5 steps to point E at grid reference SD362022 411132 where the path turns continuing in a generally northwest by northerly direction for a distance of approximately 15 metres utilising 2 flights of 17 steps to point F at grid reference SD362013 411144 then running in a generally north west by northerly direction for a distance of approximately 17 metres to point B at grid reference SD362003 411158 as shown by the bold black dashes between points A-C-D-E-F-B on the Order Plan over a total distance of approximately 79 metres. The width between points A-C-D-E-F-B will be 2 metres throughout over a stone surface between points A-C & F-B. The definitive map and statement shall be modified accordingly.

The new line will commence

A copy of the confirmed Order and plan may be inspected free of charge at the One Stop Shop, Town Hall, Bolton during office hours. Copies of the Order and Plan maybe purchased. The Order will come into force on the date the Order is certified as complied with by the Council but if any person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity or a provision contained within it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act as amended, or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 17th March 2017 make application to the High Court.
