Statutory Notice for a proposed enlargement of Blackrod CP School.
Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that Bolton Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to enlarge Blackrod CP School, Manchester Rd, Blackrod , Bolton BL6 5SY.
Bolton Council is proposing to enlarge the school by physically extending the school and raising its Planned Admission Number from 30 to 45 with effect from 1st September 2017 for new Reception intake pupils and for each reception intake thereafter.
In September 2016 the school admitted an additional 15 pupils into Reception as a temporary increase, but the Council are now proposing to make this increase permanent.
The current number of pupils on roll at the school is 228 and the current physical capacity is 225. The Council is proposing to increase the school’s capacity to 315 pupils, which will be achieved by incrementally increasing the number of pupils at the school each year.
